  • Creamy Peanut Butter Smoothie

We are on a bit of a smoothie buzz right now...as Master-Nearly-3 loves them!!

This is a delicious smoothie, using some of my favourite ingredients; avocado and peanut butter! Both of which makes the smoothie really creamy and adds some good fats and protein. A super easy snack, great for before or after some activity and is also a great breakfast option! You can read just why I love avocado so...
  • Apple and Walnut Muffins

I have a bit of a soft spot for muffins. They can be one of easiest homemade snacks, which come in a perfect portion - for us mums who are often eating on the run, needing breastfeeding snacks or have little mouths to feed, muffins can be genius!

With some simple switches I have created a healthier, yet still tasty version (toddler approved) of a traditional Edmonds fruit muffin recipe:

  • Kids Green Smoothie

A very simple healthy smoothie perfect for kids which has some great green stuff in it, including broccoli and avocado. The banana and berries provide natural sweetness, plus berries contain great antioxidants for little immune systems. Best of all this has passed the taste test of little man, in fact we made this two days in a row as he loved it so much (and being able to work the blender!).

Not all of my creations work out but this one is a winner!! Perfect to have for a small breakfast on the go or to get something into you with a 5am wake up....actually these bliss balls will make a great snack option full stop! Master 2.5 years had demolished these when he came home from daycare (that's the true seal of approval there!).

Food is my love language and my latest creation has been made with just that, a lot of love....plus a few of my all time favourite ingredients, coconut oil, avocado, walnuts. This recipe only uses a bit of honey for some sweetness so go on, treat yourself (I licked the spoon and the bowl!).

    Ingredients:

    2 ripe avocados

1/2 cup of dark chocolate chips

    2 tbs of coconut oil

    2 tbs coconut flour

  • Indian Inspired Chicken Crock-Pot

The beauty of a crock-pot (also called a slow cooker) is that you can prepare your dinner in the morning so that when 5 pm hits, you have this beautiful warm meal ready to go. As food is cooked on low heat, the meat and vegetables retain a lot of their nutrients, plus all the juices (and goodness) from the meat flavours all the vegetables.

Here is a recipe we make regularly at home as it is super...

Valentines Day is coming up! I know that it is super commercialised now but hey in the busyness of life, especially with children, it does not hurt to have a decent excuse to put some time into those that you love, especially your partner.

I actually created this recipe when Smushie was a newborn and I was often up late at night feeding him....little monkey still likes a middle of the night feed!

  • Feta, Green Pea & Mint Fritters

These fritters are nothing fancy but are very versatile, you could have them any time of day and are super easy to pop into a lunch box. Plus they are a good way to sneak in some good greens and include mint which is especially beneficial for keeping your immune system strong and aiding digestion.

I actually created these fritters very pregnant with Smushie and I cooked up extra to pop in the...
  • Low Calorie Mocktails

When I was pregnant with Smushie it was one hot summer (he was born the 17th of January) and that is where the idea of creating some healthy drinks that were slightly more fun and interesting then water came from!

    blog-edited

Pure and simple as always these fun, cool and low calorie mocktails are a fabulous healthy option to drink on hot summer days...or to bring in the new year!!
