On A Mission
As an active researcher and health activist, Dr Julie has dedicated her life's work to tackle the big issues facing our children and families today.
In 2015 her viral postpartum body blog was read by millions around the world - before blogs even went viral. After also experiencing huge challenges breastfeeding, despite her work in the industry, Dr Julie has been on national television several times demanding for women to be more supported through this journey.
Following the completion of her Doctoral Thesis in children's independent mobility (funded by a full research grant by the Heart Foundation), Dr Julie went on to tackle the crucial topic of starting babies on solid food an area which there is just a mass of outdated and conflicting advice.
Her best selling book 'The Nourished Baby' was published in 2017 and has helped thousands of parents all over the world start their baby off on real, wholefoods supported with the latest research. Her follow on book 'The Nourished Toddler' was published a year later and then her Baby & Toddler Cookbook. Since then there have been two more additions - a children's book 'My First Vegetables' and her latest publication, a new cookbook 'Feed The Tribe'.


With the unique ability to make scientific peer-reviewed research simple to understand and offer practical, realistic suggestions to meals for families Dr Julie has to date written a combined total of nine books & ebooks- including four cookbooks despite no formal chef training.
A self-confessed coffee addict who loves a good thriller novel, Dr Julie and her tribe live on a lifestyle block which is where her latest cookbook 'Feed the Tribe' was created and photographed.
