Avocado and coconut balls

These bliss balls are straight from newly released cookbook 'Feed The Tribe'. I think they could be my best bliss balls ever. Big call I know! You would never guess they are packed full of multiple sources of Omega-3 fatty acids because they literally taste like chocolate balls.

They are completely nut-free so can be put into a lunch box and hold well together even out of the fridge. My older boys and I made these during our 4th lockdown through the COVID-19 Pandemic on a Facebook LIVE before my book came out and got aptly nicknamed 'lockdown balls'. Their 'real' name in the cookbook is nut-free omega balls.

 Ingredients:

 1 & 1/2 cup of dates

1 avocado

1/4 cup prunes

1/4 cup chia seeds

1 cup desiccated coconut (plus extra for rolling)

2 tbsp cocoa powder

2 tbsp coconut butter (or coconut oil)

1 tsp vanilla essence

Method:

Soak the dates in a bowl with some boiling water to soften.

Meanwhile, place all other ingredients in the food processor. Drain dates and include into the processor.

Blend all together, roll into balls and coat in desiccated coconut. Set in the fridge or freezer.

This recipe is one from the 'lunch box' section of my new book 'Feed The Tribe'. You can check out all the incredible reviews and recipe photographs from many of the amazing tribes that have got this book.
